EYES ON YOU...

Damn that was quicker than expected. I thought I had a good month or so before I had to fiddle around with it. You see I changed the splash page of http://offbeathalo.com. I got really lazy and ripped off another sites stuff. It was always going to be temporary, and I only did it because I though their site was really good. I've fixed it now. I re-wrote the css file and converted the page to be better for what I'm using it for, also swapped over the images to something else. It still looks similar but different.

What I'm wondering is how the hell they found out in like 4 days... :-/ now that's just dodge.

YOU COULD BE SWINGING ON A STAR

God I love this fucking movie! "

"It's got zombies, puzzles, and one time it was so scary it made Parks piss his pants in horror..."

OK, well maybe it isn't scary and I don't recall it having any zombies in it, but it is a damn fine movie that I've pretty much grown up on. My bro finally managed to track me down a copy. It's something that I've always been looking at in the shops but never got around to buying it. Just being lazy/tight ass I guess. I did manage to find a little synopsis that sums up the story pretty well:

<-- start stolen text
Eddie "The Hawk" Hawkins, the world's most famous cat burglar, who, after 10 years in prison, is ready to go straight. But it's not going to be easy for The Hawk. The mob and the CIA have conspired to blackmail Eddie and his partner into stealing three da Vinci masterpieces from the most heavily-guarded museums in the world.

Sounds simple, right? WRONG!

While trying to steal the goods, hawk falls in love with a beautiful but schizophrenic nun and is relentlessly pursued by the greedy and powerful Minerva and Darwin Mayflower, who want the artworks as part of their twisted plot to ruin the world's economy. It's wall-to-wall action as the wise-cracking Hawk saves the world, wins the girl, and gets the last laugh.

SO ALONE, BE SORROW

If you want to see a fantastic Hong Kong action movie of old then you'll be hard pressed go past Mr Vampire.

I'd never heard of it before, before my special girl picked it up for me. On the front it had claimed the movie won a bunch of international film awards back in it's day. So anyway I decided to poop it into the old DVD player.

It's the story of a traditional Chinese Vampire/Ghost hunter that happens to be the local undertaker and authority on all things supernatural. He is accompanied by his two well meaning, yet utterly stupid apprentices. As they try to track down and destroy a recent awakened vampire that was a former well known business man. Theres some absolutely classic fight scenes and jokes in this movie and the way the vampires walk around is easily worth an imitation after you see the movie.

The whole way through this flick your constantly entertained, there is barely a dull moment to be had. Where over-the-top Hong Kong vampire action/black comedy movies are concerned I don't think I've seen anything better!

I'M THE ONE YOU LOVE TO HATE

Ok, so work has this little get together on the roof on Friday Afternoon. It was good, BBQ and some odd mexican band playing in the background. I was about yey -> <- close to winning a angle grinder, as well. Damn that bastard that won it for beating me too it.

I couldn't resist the urge and took a couple of pics with the new phone camera so I thought I'd post them to show you what it's like.

This first pic is facing south-west looking over west terrace.

The second pic is northward, looking over Adealide Oval

BLINDED BY THE WHITE LIGHT

I've been looking at upgrading the site to Moveable Type. Seems to be a formidable piece of blogging software. If I could be bothered I'd set it up today, but I don't know how I'm going to go customizing the layout and how my skins are going to fit in. Surely it's possible I'm guessing. I just don't have the attention span to do anything right now.

Tonight is a night of rest, back to my DVD's and chocolate for now I think...

SEA OF SILENCE
Ok, finally got around to seeing sin city tonight. I had to make a special trip just to see the last session playing in Adelaide city. I really, really enjoyed it. It's quite easy to get over the fact that Jessica Alba and Brittany Murphey are in it. The movie is just gold. I love the fact that it was done in mostly black and white. Mickey Rourke as Merv is by far the best character. Although Bruce Willis does a damn fine job as well. Five Stars to the movie. I really recommend that you pick it up or go see it.

I did however drag my special girl to the cinemas with me to see it. Don't think she enjoyed it as much as I did, but it was very nice to spend the time with her.

I've finally managed to get through Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon as well, even thought I had to do it in two sittings. Somehow I've got a plethora of DVD's to watch on top of my TV and theres more on the way. I've got some SeaLab 2021 and Mahoromatic & Ai Yori Aoshi coming from the US soon as well. Looks like I wont be seeing end of Sakura Taisen anytime soon...

GOOD ONE SHAGGY...

I know it's a little Cliche, but I've finally gotten around to getting up some of the pics that I took on Friday night. now none of these have been edited in anyway, besides a little re-sizing for the web, the camera has the tendancy to output 2mb+ per photo, which is good, but not so much for the internet.

Again I stress, I havn't altered these shots. There are what I took during the night.

Ghost 1 Ghost 2 Ghost 3 Ghost 4 Ghost 5

Now I'm as skeptical as the next one but even taht kind of freaked me out. The camera couldn't have altered the shots, they were taken over teh space of two hours... Spooky I know.

THE MISSION

Just got the phone call that the 250GB WD External HDD *Media Center Edition*, with my firewire/USB2.0 combo card is in stock. Which means that I'll be playing with all this lovely new space tonight.

I'm still a little iffy about external HDD's, I've only ever have 1 HDD die on me about a year ago, who could forget. Since then I make backups about every 6 months on several DVD's. I'm now wondering if it's going to be safe for me to make a back-up on this little baby. Surely the chances of all my HDD's going on me at once is slim... At least I'm getting an all in on Media reader and another USB hub! oh joy! One touch back-ups!

I've just finished updating the entire site to run on PHPinclude tags. Basically I chop the page into smaller sections with there own .php file name, then just add a PHPinclude tag pointing to the specific files where I want them. It opens the file and adds whatever is in it to the HTML and displays it as a single page. Simple, and makes things like adding fanlistings, editing menus, changing links etc. really easy without having to reload the entire blog every time, which is getting pretty big.

PERFECT WORLD

I got my new phone last night. 2mp camera and everything attached. Ported my number over from my existing carrier to my new one. Now all I have to worry about is getting all my contact from my old ngage. Looks like I could be stuck writing that all out by hand... dum!

Ohh well theres not a lot I can do about that. I got given a OPTUS handset which had a whole bunch of OPTUS zoo carp attached so I've had to re-flash/de-brand the handset. $16.50 or something from a Site, it's done online and has worked out really well.

The phone connects directly to the PC via USB cable and basically functions as a Memory Stick reader. It plays MP3's, video, bluetooth etc. The implemented camera is really good. I'm going to enjoy it. It also charges via USB, which is insane for portability!

After I picked that up it was time for the Adelaide Gaol Ghost tour. I took along the camera and have got some really interesting stuff to post. I've got to sort out the 200+ photos that I took during the night. Basically been watching the end of Clockwork Orange today. Love it.

3 YEARS

It's the BIG 3 years for me and my special girl. Wow it's gone quickly. Couldn't be happier with the way things are. We've had a special Hog's Breath dinner tonight, with all the trimmings. Followed by a trip to the Elephant Walk.

I was really freaking out this afternoon about getting flowers for her or not. On one hand I know she loves to feel special, on the other flowers aren't really something that I usually buy. They die relatively quickly and I don't think they are that enjoyable. The romantic got the better of me on the way home and I stopped over and got a nice arrangement.

I hope the next 3 years are as enjoyable as the last.

XXX my sweetcakes!

NIGHTMARE OF DISASTER

Ok, stuff that' I've decided that I want:

Sony Ericsson K750i
250GB WD External HDD *Media Center Edition*
Playstation Portable (PSP)
w/ Bleach & Tales of Eternia

Ok, I'm in need of a new phone. The N-Gage just isn't cutting the mustard anymore. It's lost it's game novelty a while ago, but now the lack of features (camera/video/i-mode) is getting on my nerves. It's also big and clunky and I'm sick of the site of it. The battery life is less fantastic as well.

I went around Scotty's house the other day and he showed me his 200GB external HDD that he got off of eBay. I was very impressed. Jessy and myself went around there last night for dinner and it cemented it that I need one. Me being me found the WD media center drive. A neat firewire/USB 2.0 combo drive with a reader for almost any memory card made built in.

A PSP is self - explanatory, regardless of the fact I know I'd barley play the thing except to emmulate SNES and NES stuff. Still Bleach Looks wicked and Tales of Eternia is a great game.

Dinner at Scotty's last night was excellent. A fantastic steak with a blueberry glaze & potato with cajun chips & olives. Very, very extravagant. We'll have to take him out one night to say thanks as it's hard to entertain at my house.

Also worth noting that my sis, bro-in-law and nephews are down for the week.

CRYPTIC MOOD

Last night I managed to get the "fanboys dream". Namco X Capcom is a new release from Monolith software, the people that brought me Xenosaga, and looks to be shaping up ok. Now the battle mechanics seem to be relatively simple, SRPG with button mashing until something is dead. The graphics are bright but un-noteworthy.

Where this games shines is it's roster of over 150 Namco & Capcom all stars. Ranging from Stahn & Rutee(Tales of Destiny), Klona, Street fighter characters and Xenosaga, the list is almost droolworthy. Each character has their own specific attacks and specials but there are also combination attacks that are just pure eye candy.

I've only played the first level so far, even so I was really impressed even though it was with characters I didn't know, but it's something defiantly that should be looked out for.

I've also got Destroy all Humans, looks amusing. I've got the sneaking suspicion that it's made from/by the people at Rockstar, the company that brought you GTA & Max Payne...

BRACING FOREST WIND

Harbour Town, it's pretty crap. We just went down there for something to do on an ok day. To be honest I've never really had the urge to go down there before, but it's that time of year where I need a few new work shirts and I have to go out and do the dreaded clothes shopping.

Off to the wrong foot to begin with, the car parking was terrible. We were driving around for a good 20 mins looking for a park. I'd say 200 car parks with 500 cars looking for somewhere to park. When we finally did get in the shops were rather unimpressive. I was expecting BIG discounts. But when I walked outside from Roger David I looked in my bag and although I was happy with what I got, didn't think it was that cheap and I probably could have gotten the same stuff in the City for a similar price.

To cut a long story short it doesn't live up to the hype. It's surprisingly small inside too.

Oh, I just warn anyone that lives in Adelaide makes you that you never and I mean NEVER eat from the food court. It had to be the worst lunch that I've had... ever.

ADVENTUROUS SPIRIT

Ok, Now it's all booked in and I'm rearing to go. It's the Greedy Goose on Sunday night for me and my special girl.

I just hope it lives up to the hype of all the media coverage. I'll be sorely disappointed if it's very shite, especially since they won that competition. I guess we will find out soon enough. Theres always the old lion across the road if it is very bad. You can't go wrong with a Lion burger.

MORE FRIENDS OF MINERAL TOWN

I didn't end up seeing Sin City last night. Jessy & I went to Ying Chow's for dinner with Will from shinTokyo. Mmm yummy salt and pepper squid. I love it there, the food is just so good. I gots me a chi latte afterwards too. Damn they are good. I've also re-stocked on Pocky and other assorted junk food from the asian supermarket. I was once again disappointed to see that there was no almond pocky (peppero) again. There must be a shortage. So to compensate I'm going to drown my sorrows in hello pandas.

It's Thursday, and I've just been paid. I really feel the need to spend some money. Not over the net, I have to wait for that. I'm thinking I could go a DS game. Maybe Another Code, a kewl little puzzle game that makes good use of the touch pad...

I finally managed to get Bleach: Selected Soul. It's a lot worse than expected. I based it on this morning for 10 mins while I was getting dressed. It plays like Blood Will Tell, only a lot less freedom. I'm sure the moves are going to be able to get upgraded and it's very import friendly. All the menus are pretty much in english (somewhat like Sakura Taisen 5) and the tutorials are video based. I still want a PSP and Bleach: Heat the Soul, perhaps I might pick one up after my birthday while I'm in Melbourne, something to think about.

THE ONE
Jess and I went and saw Land of the Dead last night. I really enjoyed it. The movie is hella gory and in parts just plain gross. There's a few things in the movie that are pretty lame. Like the African American (I'll be politically correct here) "leader" of the zombie army who apprently has the ability to aviod almost all bullets and seems to be rocket scientist smart. :-/

Still if you can get over the whole Simon Baker thing (he actually does a good job!) it's a movie well worth seeing if you can stomach alot of gore and a bout of the heebie jeebies.

Possibly might go see Sin City tonight.. Maybe...

THE REBIRTH

Well it's back up and running now. It's odd, getting a new clutch installed makes it like driving a brand new car. Still I'm happy. At least I'm mobile now. Well I wasn't last night. I had big plans of doing a bunch of stuff after I picked up the car, I was going to see Sin City before it stops showing but I got stuck watching Monty Pithons: Meaning of Life and backing up the computers. Oh well today is cheap ass Tuesday, perhaps I'll go tonight after tidying my room and shite.

I've already pissed of someone today. I got told I have a bad attitude as well. Me? Bad attitude? No, I just can't suffer fools for very long. I think I go above an beyond is every aspect of this job. But then again I'm sure everyone with a bad attitude believes that...

THE AVENGER

It's been an ok weekend. We went out for dinner last night, and then to spats, with some friends. That was nice, although by the time that I got to spats I'd already stuffed myself on some scones that I made at our friends house... :-/ How'd I get conned into that, I opened my big mouth...

Been to the Port Adelaide Markets today and then to Glenelg for lunch. My bro had to track down some CD that the tighty whitey didn't want to pay $30 for. Still it was good to get out and for someone that's got to avoid drive their car I've certainly done a lot of travelling this weekend. It's all going to be ok by tomorrow though, good as new, hopefully. I had the massivest Chi Latte at Glenelg as well, OMFG it was about 800ml of Chi Latte, I was in heaven, afterwards I had "Chi Belly" though. An odd combination of bloating and needing to pee...

Not really much planned for the rest of the evening, think I might put some more effort into Sakura Taisen, I've finally figured out how to do the love attacks and have so far seen Maria's and Iris's. They make me laugh, what the hell has it go to do with attacking???

THE TEMPTRESS

Booyea! some harvest moon goodness and it's all mine! Mwhahaha! WEll I'm sure I'll get around to it someday... of course I will.

Couldn't beleive that I slept in until 12 today. I stayed up watching Ong Bak last night, meh it was ok. I wasn't that impressed and the fight scences were not what I was expecting. Headed into shinTokyo last night and picked up some anime, something I havn't done in a long time. Nothing much besides Mahoromatic and the next samurai chump-poo... *LOL*

THE MACHINATOR

I've cancelled that damn order and am headed into DVDcrave to get my Harvest Moon fix. The games were put on back order of all things, after being proclaimed "in stock" for the last 6 days. Oh well, I should have learned my lesson from Xenosaga 2.

Headed into shinTokyo tonight. I know it's not particuarly exciting but there's really not a lot that I can do. Maybe I could con someone into being my taxi tonight. To be honest thought I really don't like getting in the car with anyone but micromachines, and even that's taken a few years to get used to. I wont mention the amount of accidents that's he's been in with me in the car though. It's just hard to relax I find.

I guess the car isn't that broken. Maybe if I can be bothered I will head out somewhere...

THE PROPHET

Damn, I thought my order would have shipped by this morning. There has to be a hold up with something, I'm guessing it's my Harvest Moon games, More Friends of Mineral Town or Another Wonderful Life... I'm getting very tempted to cancel my order and get it from DVDcrave. It's like $15 difference or something. If it hasn't shipped by Saturday I'm cancelling it. I'll give it a little longer, It's harvest moon for fucks sake. It's not like I'm actually going to play it or anything.

On the flip side my Negima! v.2 got delivered today! It looks very Japanese heavy, the instruction manual is very daunting. Don't know if I'm going to have fun with this one. Although the more I play Japanese games the better I'm getting at reading commands and menus. Some of the talking is pretty hard to understand and I'm left clueless as to what is going on. This Negima games has attracted a 18+ rating, the Japanese equivalent of an "R". So I'm expecting something pretty shocking. It'll be interesting to see if I can port over my old save data into this one. Then again some of my relationships with the girls in the first are less than impressive.... :-/

THE PROPAGATION

However so boring it is when you can't drive your car... Although I've made a bit of progress, it's not getting fixed on Monday morning at 8:30 for about half the price it was going to cost me at toyota. A big massive thanks to Shane, the wonderful guy that's helped me out.

My parents have finally got their stupid Broadband internet up and running it's wireless, which I know almost nothing about, so I'm stuffed if I know if it's secure or not. The laptop doesn't even have wiFi so they can't use the modem. LOL, it's hilarious.

Not sure what I'm going to do tonight. It's pretty lame. I probably should just do my banking and then go to bed. My CDuniverse order, for reasons beyond my comprehension and understanding, has been delayed. "ships in 1-2 days" my ass. I've noticed that they've been slipping down hill lately. Their customer service department has always needed a kick up the coight though. I hate the cut and pasted standard responses they always give, not to mention it takes them a good 24 hours to return an email...

THE MIRAGE OF DECEIT

When "It" was born
the first thing it saw
was a "PK"

I found out last night that my poor little corolla's clutch is busted and that it's going to cost me about $800 to get it fixed. Oh no, what am I do to? I've got the money I suppose, and it's not like I didn't know it was on the way out. If I get that done and then do the front brakes then everything on the listed stuff that needs doing is done. Well besides the airconditioing, but we don't speak of that... :-x

.hack//fragment, this is my new vice. I'm really interested in how its' going to pan out. It would be so fun to play online in "The World". Everyone know's I can't wait for .hack//G.U. and that I'm a massive .hack//fanboy.

Probably time to get back my flower division. I think they are in need of a new battle. The game certianly isn't as polished as STV, but it's still very enjoyable. You know I'm suprisingly chipper for someone who just lost all the me time I had. That's right, my parents are back.. oh yeah, you can just feel the joy coming off me.

THE TERROR OF DEATH

I just finished watching Supersize Me. It was a bit of an eye opener. I didn't jump on the band wagon when it was first released.. Sure is was something that I wanted to see, I just didn't think it was worth the effort too. Doco's are always so hit and miss.

I think Morgan went a little overboard, but it sure illustrates the effects that a high fast food diet can have. 30 days and he was at risk of dying. Imagine 30 years a couple times a week. I don't think the average person would be able to survive it.

On a much lighter note I'm about to start playing Sakura Taisen ACN for PS2, that is of course if I can get my finger to work after a ridiculously cold night.. brr.
