3.52 M33

Well I finally took the plunge and decided to hack my PSP firmware so I can emulate some of the super cool SNES games I have and hopefully some PS1 games.

As it turn out I needed to upgrade to the offical 3.50 firmware then downgrade to 1.50 then upgrade to 3.52 M33. All with a slight chance of turning my PSP into a shiney white brick. As it turns out, all went off without a hitch and now I can run Super Metroid among other calssics like EVO: Search for Eden, Super Mario Kart & Chrono Trigger. If I can just the the PSX emulation working for Chrono Cross (I know there's problems with it) and some of my other "awesome" PSX games I'll be all set!

BUT there's an "update" that I need to get installed and extracting files from offical firmware, although not out of my capabilites, is all starting to get too hard for a console that a rarely play. Still I'll perserver. Nothing like getting paid while sorting it out at work.

Another milstone last night was that I've also finally manged to get through all 111 episodes of Hercules: The Legendary Journey's damn it was a memorable ride. So hopefully I can finally get into doing something else before bed time now. I've got about 10 books backed up that need to be read in the near future. As always so many games as well. I don't think it will ever be possiblt for me to play everything I have...

NINJA'S OH MY
TMNT

I know it's been a few days but I've really had nothing to report. I've just finished watching the TMNT movie and I was pretty disappointed. It's not like it was terrible, it just didn't Wow me like I though it would. If you put the impressive CGI aside, the storyline end up being the largest problem. PLOT holes left right and center. If your going to make a movie at least go to the effort of trying to cover some of your holes up. More back storey would have been nice, especially for the supposed foot characters and villan(s). Oh and I love the whole throw to a sequel, just so blatantly obvious... it was actually laughable.

Perhpas I've just been spoiled with Transformers. THAT movie also had plot holes out of the kazoo, but at least had a heap of splosions and burnouts to keep me entertained. I'm superficial like that, and I probably always will be.

IN CONCERT

"Who'll stand by your side? So watch my eyes. Watch 'em turn while you go change. Curtains down. When all their skill was cut, and I bled. There were forces of John Jones. I can't make you happy. It seems all i ever do is try. You could never cut me deep enough to leave a scar. So take this gift. It's somethin to save"

Finally got around to getting the quote done on my car. It's come in at a LOT less than I thought it would, and as per usual I'll get extra work done on it at the same time. I don't think there's much original paint left on that car. Everyone needs to stop fucking slamming into me when I'm parked! Assholes.

WONDER-PEACH

Good news is that the Wonderswan Color showed up yesterday. Jessy wasn't too happy about having to wait for her Peach. I made a few phone calls, threatend a few people and did a few favors in china town I'd rather not talk about, so low and behold Peach was delivered yesterday as well.

It's amazing how nice people are to you when they realise that you found out you've skrewed them. Courier's pfft who needs them.

MESSENGERPOST SUXORS

Something that really pisses me off is courier drivers. I'm getting the Wonderswan Color and all the Final Fantasy goodness that goes with it delivered to work, so I was all geared up to get it today, that way I know I'll be here to sign for it and get it as soon as possible. Low and behold it didn't turn up today, I thought that was weird so I checked my tracking number and an attempted delivery was made. Fucking liars, I was here all day ready to recieve it. No-one showed up to deliver it and the assholes said they did.

Now I think the blame falls in one place, MessengerPost. Ever since Austraila Post have moved to there own company I have noticed a massive decline in reliability and service. This isn't an isolated incident, I had the same problem in the city one time when I waited until 5:30pm out the front of work for someone to show up because I was "guaranteed" my package was going to turn up. Guess what, it didn't and when I checked the tracking number again it said they tried but they hadn't. Another blatent lie.

Australia Post have really started to drop the ball. I much prefer FedEx, anything that comes though them I always receive when I'm told I will. I know I wouldn't be the only one loosing confidence in there international delivery methods. I'm not even going to start on DHL or UPS either. There too east a target. Stick with FedEx, at least they seem to have a clue about what the fucks going on with there shit.

STORIES

Well Jessy treated me to Harry Potter and The Order Of The Phoenix last night, and it was not the best Harry Potter Movie I've seen. I much preferred the last one, Goblet of Fire, much better in my opinion. Lets be clear, I haven't read any of the books (Jessy has and is eagerly awaiting the new book), but even I could tell they skipped over a lot. It's kind OF sitting like the Lord of the rings movies, they show you enough to get the gist of the main plot, but all of the interesting bits that make it special are in the books.

Anyway I didn't get to bed until 2 am, problems with a leaky battery in my boot that must have gone ass up when I was drifting the hills the other day. Completely forgot it was there, and it's killed some Soarer mats that were in my boot. But as I'm not in the best of moods I thought I'd post something that's "Super Awesome".

SOUNDSHIELD

Rather interesting day to say the least. This site has actually moved physical servers, it's still with the same host, I've just upgraded the account to something much better that's a lot cheaper, funny that. Problem that happened was the domain expired, easy enough to fix but annoying none the less, and took a little bit of hair pulling and $$$ to sort out. Something I have learned today is that Moveable Type published all files by default to CHMOD 666. This can cause problems with some servers as I found out, every time I published a file it was generating an internal server error. That took some sorting, luckily enough I sorted it all at work, would have been pissed it I had to spend my own time sorting out issues.

Also had some Mega Drift action in a Ford Courier in the paddock near my house. Simone pooped around and as new tyres are on the card early next week so it was a time for a little fun while we could still get some sideways action going. Helps it's very dewy near my house and now there's a lot of nice brown lines in the normally, government owned (so there's nothing in it) paddock. Hella fun!

Off to see Harry Potter tonight. Here's hoping it's as good the last one.

PEACHY
Prima Dolly Peach

At the risk of giving it all away I've just purchased my special (Blythe Obsessed) girl a super rare, limited to only 500, Prima Dolly Peach. It's one of those things that I really shouldn't have done, just like the Wonderswan and the Sakura Taisen Dreamcast. But I just couldn't help myself, she's been hanging for one so bad ever since she first heard about it.

Just a special gift from me to you Jessy! Or I might end up giving it to Roxy to chew... that would be amusing.

WONDERFUL
Wscff2a

I just won myself a Wonderswan Color from ye old eBay. It comes with the Special Edition Final Fantasy 2 box set, (so the Wonderswan itself it special edition Final Fantasy one. (^_^) ) as well as Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy IV. Yes, I know that's all I need, more final fantasy's that I'm never going to play, but come on, it's a Wonderswan!

I'd also like to get myself a GP2X, purely for the emulating goodness, as my PSP it's up-to-date with firmware upgrades. I just like the browser and stuff, and to be honest I'd rather it be all shiny and spiffy than old and crappy with a bit of emulation software.

I guess that's where the GP2X comes into play. It looks specifically designed to play all the SNES emulation that I could ever want, and although it's a little on the expensive side for what it is, it doesn't even have a Lithium rechargeable battery, it doesn't look too bad. Sadly though, like the Wonderswan, I'll probably have to wait a while to get one. At the moment I'm looking a HUGE tax bill for this financial year, damn government always wants me money, as well as a steadily increasing credit card bill for all the Japanese gaming goodness I've been purchasing. Bleh, makes me want to go to bed...

On a plus side I think my fir Dreamcast game, Sakura Taisen 3 [Limited Edition B], comes with another Sakura Taisen VMU, should be arriving tomorrow, it's going to be hard to guess what I'll be doing tomorrow night.

STUPID THINGS MY NEW BOSS SAYS #2

Oh jeez, more than one a week you know he's on a role it's that time again:

"Take it to the next level" - Used when referring to the business or people or a particualr skill set.

My Take: Now I thought the last one was pretty gay but I've heard this statement no less than 5 times in the last hour in one of those pointless meetings where everyone is thinking what I'm thinking, "What a fuck-knuckle". This was used straight after I was tolf that I have no skills. Not very nice indeed. Fucking blad cunt...

STUPID THING MY NEW BOSS SAYS #1

“Make some crumpet” – Commonly used  when over-charging a client to make more money than the standard builder margin.

My take is stuff it up your ass. Just because he couldn’t manage a root in brothel with $100 hanging out of his shorts does not mean that someone else should suffer. This is a saying that really pisses me off, mostly because it’s just so gay and he always gets so excited when he uses it… like it’s clever or something.

DONT TELL ME ITS OVER

I had my final test for the be all and end all of the Timber Framing Code tonight. If you’ve been keeping up in recent events in my life you’ll know that for the bast 4 months I’ve pretty much done just work and study, with the occasional break to buy things. Finally it’s all over for me. I’m done with stupid work study for the year.

The finaly test however didn’t go so well. I missed a lecture on bracing a few weeks back and never really got it. Well the test was 30% bracing and I bombed like and Afgahni in London… Fuck…

THE BETTER PART OF VALOR
Sakuracomplete

Yes, I’ve one the Sakura Taisen Complete Dreamcast set. It included all the awesome Sakura Tasien games (1–4) on Dreamcast. The perfect thing to play on my new Sakura Taisen PINK Dreamcast Console. It was a hard auction to win, certainly went for more than I was thinking. I really should start to sell some of my old crap (mostly doubles of games and DVD’s that I’ve accumulated over the years) on eBay.

With the amount of bids on this set I’m really suprised I won it. Fear the near empty (although now nearing full) credit card of mine! It seems to have no bounds to what I can buy at the moment. Here’s hoping that everything arrives safetly, I’ve never bought from Germany or the UK before. But I will be suprised if anythign shows up within a week.

LIQUID METAL
Cruzertitanium

I’ve got a bit of a penchant for collecting USB drives latley. I picked up a 512mb Cruzer Titanium at JBHiFi for the sweet price of $10 today. Very pleased indeed. It’s built solid as all shit as well. Heavy it just oozes quality. I’m confident that I could drive my car over it and not leave a scratch. Just makes me wish now that the last Cruzer I bought was Titanium. Downside though, this ones not U3 compatible…
