Well I finally took the plunge and decided to hack my PSP firmware so I can emulate some of the super cool SNES games I have and hopefully some PS1 games.
As it turn out I needed to upgrade to the offical 3.50 firmware then downgrade to 1.50 then upgrade to 3.52 M33. All with a slight chance of turning my PSP into a shiney white brick. As it turns out, all went off without a hitch and now I can run Super Metroid among other calssics like EVO: Search for Eden, Super Mario Kart & Chrono Trigger. If I can just the the PSX emulation working for Chrono Cross (I know there's problems with it) and some of my other "awesome" PSX games I'll be all set!
BUT there's an "update" that I need to get installed and extracting files from offical firmware, although not out of my capabilites, is all starting to get too hard for a console that a rarely play. Still I'll perserver. Nothing like getting paid while sorting it out at work.
Another milstone last night was that I've also finally manged to get through all 111 episodes of Hercules: The Legendary Journey's damn it was a memorable ride. So hopefully I can finally get into doing something else before bed time now. I've got about 10 books backed up that need to be read in the near future. As always so many games as well. I don't think it will ever be possiblt for me to play everything I have...
