CONTROLLING THE IRON BEAST

TMGC+C = AwesomesWell I’m nearing the end of this long drawn out cold/flu. Stupid cold medicine has done NOTHING. Do not waste your moeny people, it’s all a sham.

On the plus side Jessy managed to procure a Tamagotchi Color from Japan for me. These things are rarer than michael jackson merchandise at the moment and expensive to boot. But it’s a matter of tradition, see I’m a bit tama collecter from wat back. My collection spans hundreds of egg shaped minions. Soon the worl will feel there wrath!

But yes, color = cool that’s for sure. They are also back lit which makes them easy to fiddle with in the dark.

Long live Tamagotchi!

v3.0

is this awesome? y/n

Well it’s official. I’m one of those iPhone nerds that stayed up for the launch of the 3.0 OS… but I did kind of cheat a bit. I took a guess on when it would come out and then set my alarm for 4am local time. Luckily enough I’m not as stupid as I thought I would be as I managed to wake up 5 mins after it launched. I installed and was happy until it wouldn’t boot. But being a whole re-write of the OS I wasn’t too upset that I had to restore from a back up. 100+ features for free!

Roughly 10 hours into the new update all I can say is wow. Everything feel snappier, especially the iPod stuff, which I was sure was tacked on the the phone part and not the other way around. The search function is useful, as is copy-pasta and push notification. I’m yet to get an MMS though, I’ll have to test that out tonight to see if it works. Voice recording is useless to me, I wish I could delete it…

I WANT TO DIE

The Hitcher... BEST MOVIE EVAR!Now as re-makes go, when it comes to pretty much anything, I’m not usually a fan. Most of them fail to capture what made the original special, and usually resort to cheap tricks or rely on the name to get people to buy/watch/play them. The Hitcher is by no means an exception to this, as a remake it really is a knock off of the original but in saying that I don’t mean to imply that this isn’t the best movie in history. You have Sean Bean, a most awesome bad guys since the days of Goldeneye, kick ass car and chase scence and fantastic scenic panorama shots that really make this film shine.

I rally love this move that much that I bought the DVD last weekend, and then tonight I thought, fuck it, and went and got the blu-ray for good measure. My god what a difference. Blu-ray really is a generational leap in picture quality, just like DVD was to VHS. If you don’t beleive me you need to see for yourself. Pop a DVD in, even upscale it if you can, then put the Blu-ray version in. The difference smacks you in the face like a freight train. So much clearer, so much more detail, so much BETTER.

Buy Blu-Ray… NOW

RAYS OF BLUE

Kdl40z4500oh9

Well I finally went ahead and did it. I’m all high definition in my room now. PS3 and Xbox360 and even high(er) definition Wii for all the glory. But as awesome as this is, I wont really get a change to play around with it after work. Oh, I also got suckered into getting the up-up-up model from what I went in to get and ended up with a Sony Bravia 40” Z Series with 200hz Motion flow technology. Hz are the WIN in TV’s… although no one can seem to tell me what Hz actually are on an LCD TV… Hmmm…

LYCOSA = AWESOME

Lycosa

Well after an hour or so messing around with various power connections etc. I’ve managed to get the new video card up and running. Who would have though it requires an additional power sauce… what a pain, Stupid PCI-E cards… But in saying that, it has taken medicore average Left 4 Dead at 30fps to awesome 16x Ansiotropic, 4xAA max resolution left for dead to an average of 55fps (before it would chug to 10pfs), even on my aging gaming rig that’s pretty impressive to look at.

I’ve also got to say that I’m awesomly impressed with the Razer Lycosa Keyboard. It looks and feels awesome and glows an awesome blue to boot. BLAU! So long $25 microsfit emdia keyboard, you did server me well for 4 years, it will be a shame to see you go but your old and I never really liked you and your stupid favourite keys too much anyway.

HD-TIME

Well now the question comes through to me of which 40” LCD TV I want to buy. I’ve pretty much decided on the Sony “V” Series for all my HD goodness, but they are rather expensive.

At least tonight I get to pick up the new Keybaord and Video vard I’ve been waiting on for 3 weeks. Well it’s not the video card that I’ve been waiting on, I had to settle on a different brad cause the one I wanted wasn’t in.

Don’t know when I’m going to get the chance to install them though. I hear on the rumor vines that Roximas and Bellatron are on there way home as I type this. Now this is all going to be very exciting, I don’t think we have seen the girls in almost a month!

Anyway, pic of my new vid card cause I need something to waste webspace on…

THE TAKEDOWN

Here's the thing about public holidays. When you have them you essentially get an additional 24 hours do what you want, when you want. It might be some games, it might be a drive or it should be to catch up on sleep. So why is it every time we have a public holiday I can't get to bed at a decent hour? It's like I'm wired up on something that's trying to hold on to it's last hours of freedom at any cost... Basically suxors.

Anyway, despite the loss of sleep last night I'm still pretty happy that it's a short week this week. Short work weeks are the best. You get paid quicker, they go fast, no-one really cares that you don't do anything on the Tuesday or Friday. Hence I much prefer short weeks that take out a Monday than a Friday. Everyone rushes on the Thursday for some reason... fucking morons.

Oh and Metroid Prime: Hunters... shit. I hate it. Fucking game gave me cramps with it's control scheme and talk about lack lustre game play. Enemies are soooooo repet-repet-repetive. Fuck you stupid game.

I hope Star Ocean the Last Hope, Mass Effect and Resistance 2 are better... Oh no I didn't... Oh yes I did.

**Side note** Fuck yeah Blu-Ray

ON THE EDGE

MirrorsWell tis official that I've finished my first game this year, AND on a new console as well. The fisrt of my knock offs this year was Mirror's Edge for the Xbox 360. I was so excited when mirrors edge was coming out, I actually considered buying it for PC... but I thought fuck it. It's a console game, I don't think it would be right on a Mouse and Keybaord set up.

Hopefully I can get through a couple more. I'm planning on giving Metroid Prime: Hunters on the DS a go on the weekend, that's if I get around to it. But it's a long weekend and we all know that I love them.

Other than that, new job seems to be going well. I get left alone for the most part and seem to have full reign over the internets, which is good because there's a few things daddy needs to get some prices on at the moment and I can't be bothered doing it at home... plus you know they don't pay me to do it at home. LOL

SO LONG, MY LOVE

Sakurataisen5wiiOne of the few things that get me excited nowdays is a annoucement of a new Sakura Taisen Game. It just so happens the Nippon Ichi of America have made this the most exciting year since 2005 for me.

Check it Out Here

Basically I came in my pants when I heard this. I've been waiting so long for an english localisation of ANY Sakura Taisen game I have up hope a long, long time ago. There were hopes and rumors when Sakura Taisen ~Atsuki Chishio ni~ came out in Japan, not that I waited. I just buy up the special limited edition versions or any ST game released and horde them like a madman.

Sakura Taisen 5 was one of the best PS2 import games that I played. Graphics were good, story was excellent (easy to follow even though I don't know Japanese) gameplay was outstanding. For those of you that don't know Sakura Taisen games blend Strategy, Dating Sim, Anime Storybook and Action games togother in one magnificent gameplay experience. The basis of the games are that you go around sweet talking chicks to make the battles easier against the Steam Punk evil Robots that you have to lay smack down on. Epic Boss fights thrown in for good measure and Combination moves are abundant. The more the girls like you the better there fighting abilites are. If your super nice to one girl in particular you get her special lovey dovey ending, that's well worth the effort for replay. With some clever saving, resetting and strategy you can see all the ending in about 2 full sittings.

It's also interesteing to note that a Wii version is going to be released as well, of course I'll get both, that's just what I do when it comes to Sakura Taisen stuff. Wii Controls + Sakura Taisen might even be enough to warrant me purchasing a US Wii... cause I don't think my region hack is going to last forever. Region encoding is so 2005.

SLEEPING... Zzz

So I'm sitting here in my new job, eating a LeSnack for lunch wondering where the hell last night went to. I've missed a lot of sleepy time over the last week (Fuck you Windows Vista, what a pain in the arse you turned out to install) and things haven't really had a chance to catch up. I remember thinking to myself that I should start one of the new games I got for the PS3 or Xbox360... then waking up to find out that it was midnight. I proceeded to check my email then went back to bed.

So hopefully tonight I can get some Infinite Undiscovery in, or maybe some Last Remnant  or Eternal Sonata, I've been jonesing for some good RPG action for a while now and the PS2 and Wii just aren't cutting it.

NOT SO HOT

Bleachhts6It's always a little dissapointing when series get around the 5 or 6 sequel mark. Perfect eaxample is Bleach: Heat The Soul on PSP. I swung past shinTokyo last week and pick up this new release all excited when I got home to plug it in and start Soul Reaping some Espada ass all over the graphical floor on the PSP.

Let me start by saying I love the Heat The Soul series on PSP. I've had a lot of great times beating the crap out of friends via WiFi in the first game. Then 2-4 came and they trumped each other fantastically. 5 introduced a bunch of new characters and tag mechanic and hollow ichigo (awesomeness to play as).

Then comes six. I really hope this isn't the end of the series (HTS:7 anyone?) becuase it's a bit of a low point. Wright with exploits and a pointless story battles with stupid rules. The tag mechanic it's ok, but essentially you have to pick between having 2 characters tht you can swap, change and absorbe damage with or 1 beefed up character with a crappy power up special. As you guessed it 2 characters in tag nearly always win. The AI can be punishing as well... too punishing in some parts. It jumps from being "walks into punches" to "harbringer of death" mid way through the game.

I'm happy I got it. But just wanted to share with you. If your not a HTS fan, don't get this as your first game, get 3 or 4 (cheap mind you from play-asia).

i'm feeling:indifferent
